Mount Rainier National Park offers an unforgettable experience with its towering glaciers, vibrant wildflower meadows, and ancient forests. Dominated by the 14,411-foot active volcano, Mount Rainier, the park is a haven for nature lovers, hikers, and adventurers. Whether you're exploring its stunning waterfalls, wandering through misty forests, or taking in breathtaking mountain views, this park offers a diverse and awe-inspiring landscape at every turn.
We initially set out on Dead Horse Creek Trail (2 miles), but thick fog and clouds made us rethink our hike. With the views shrouded, we turned around and made our way to Myrtle Falls (0.9 miles) instead. Myrtle Falls was absolutely stunning, cascading down the rocks like a giant spider web. Along the way, I spotted a big, fluffy hoary marmot and its baby, which was a cute surprise! The scene felt straight out of a fairytale, especially with the bridge visible in the distance. The park's wildflowers added even more beauty to the trail, making it a memorable experience despite the foggy start.
